Phase Field Simulation Research on the Microstructural Evolution of Monocrystalline and Polycrystalline Silicon

This work simulates the morphological evolution process of solidification interface silicon crystal. Based on phase field model single dendrite growth pure material in a single-phase system, control equation is re-optimized, and an free energy anisotropy that can simulate competitive multiple crystal grains established. The polysilicon then simulated analyzed. results show when degree undercooling exceeds certain value, non-facet crystals are transformed into facet crystals. main branches each direction relatively thick small. With increasing anisotropy, gradual thinning, edges corners appear interface. dendrites no longer smooth, they transform from to different inhibit other compete for growth. curved, which existing branches. experimental more realistically single-crystal polycrystalline micromorphology.
